There is one golf course completed in the Central Pacific, and two nearing completion within 20 minutes driving distance from Dorada. Designed by Ted Robinson Jr., the La Iguana 18-hole, par-72 course combines incredible scenery with challenging golf. It is not uncommon to see playful monkeys, three-toed sloths, brilliant-colored toucans and scarlet macaws along the fairways. The other 13 holes showcase signature ocean breezes as the course winds through the rolling hills of the jungle. This course is slated for completion in 2012. Also planned is the Del Pacifico golf course in Esterillos, which is a 20-minute drive from Dorada
